THE THROBBER

WELCOME TO THE COMPLETE DETAILED EXPLANATION ABOUT THE FEATURES OF THIS BIKE. ALL THE CONTENTS LISTED BELOW ARE PURELY AND HONESTLY BASED ON MY EXPERIENCES.

  1. HOW DID I COME TO KNOW ABOUT THIS BIKE?????

Actually I was a rookie about bike knowledge, but now I know much about bikes(especially Indian Bikes). I came to know about cbz when my dad bought a max 100. Seems to be funny right? But since then, I started observing bikes and their special features like acceleration, suspension, comfort, etc.

  1. PICK UP.

Now forget the history, and lets talk something about the bike. The bike has excellent pickup, but only problem is its bulk. The bulk restricts the kind of acceleration a bike of 150cc engine capacity has to offer. Its not the case with a pulsar. Pulsar is lighter, so has higher pick up. This is due to the difference in the power to weight ratio. It is lower in case of CBZ.

  1. COMFORT.

Its comfort is unmatchable. The stance for this bike is perfect. The gear stick and brake foot rest (on right hand side) is a little behind the bike (only for a few inches), compared to other bikes, and it is this which gives the perfect stance for feet on this bike, as your feet go behind. Moreover, the handle of the bike is also little inclined, so you have to lean forward to reach it. Adding up all the above features, you get a sporty look when you adorn on this bike (or in simple words, sit on this bike). Other comforts like the pillion seat is at a higher plane than that of the driver seat, so maybe, Indian women may not be comfortable. (I said Indian women, not girls.... :-)

  1. GEAR SHIFTING.

It is a little hard for the ones who are new to this bike. It has only one side gear shift rest, so you have to push your leg below the gears to shift from 1 to 2. This might me a nuisance for the people driving in the city. More over, you have to pull up the brake foot rest, if you want to start the bike. But most of the new bikes come with self ignition start, so it might not be a major problem.

  1. MILEAGE.

This is the only part where the bike lags behind far compared to other bikes. Hero Honda must improve the mileage of the bike. Even the showroom people say that you cannot expect more than 45 in normal circumstances!!

  1. SUSPENSION.

The suspension is not a major problem. I did not experience any vibrations as my friends used to say. Suspension is reliable.

  1. STYLING.

Do I need to comment on styling? It is already stylish. No need for modification, only thing needed to be modified is the wheels. We should have mag or alloy wheels. But for a bike with so much bulk, alloy wheels are not economical, so if you want to modify, it is up to you, but modification is not recommended by me.

  1. STUNTS AND CIRCUS.

You can do wheelies and other stuff on this bike, but this is not a dirt bike. You have to really spend lot of money of your purse to get it back in shape, once it goes out of it. You know, Hero Honda parts are especially expensive, but of very high quality.

  1. OWNERS.

The bike gets old with age, but if you maintain it, this might not be a major problem. I dont know yet for the new cbz, and honestly I cannot confirm this. But I suppose the graphics (colorings) and new kind of indicators, headlamps and other little modifications will help the bike look new for a longer time.
