CBZ EXTREME

I am an owner of a CBZ extreme bike.I have test driven this mean machine as well as covered 3000 kms in one and half month.Don’t be surprised or get agitated as these are my observations.People I am not biased these are views staright from the performance I have received so far.My bike has sped to a speed of over 100 km/hr on the national highway when test driven.Ride quality unsurpassable, comfortable handling and the power is mind boggling.I have test driven all bikes right from Bajaj pulsars 150cc, 180cc, 200cc; dBajaj discover 135cc;Bajaj XCD 125cc;Bajaj platinum 100cc;Honda Unicorn 149.2cc;Hero honda Karizma 225cc;Yamaha gladiator;TVS apache 160cc etc in many road conditions.I am not biased but these are my excerpts from the tests and study of bikes for a long time.

Hero Honda CBZ extreme is rated at top followed by TVS apache. Then follows Honda unicorn and Bajaj Discover followed by Bajaj Pulsars and then the rest like Yamaha gladiator, Bajaj Platinum and XCD.Report was generated keeping in mind Indian road conditions varying from excellent highways to rugged potholed roads and wet and muddy conditions as well as tar and concrete road surfaces.Cbz tops the list beacause of three factors power, unsurpassed handling and ride quality, good mileage. This bike is stable at all speeds and very reliable under most road conditions.Apache has excellent handling, power and good road grip.Discover although with a little less power has excellent mileage, handling, ride quality and road grip.Go in for it if your budget is a little lower or if you wish to choose a bike for yourself not your girlfriend.Apache is a great bet.Unicorn has good  handling and comfort, superb mileage but  is not sturdy at high speeds.Pulsars come in later as although they have awesome power, good ride quality, handling is an issue. Also they are not sturdy at all.Plagued by maintainence problems and mileage unreliability is also a problem.Yamaha gladiator has great power, sturdiness but is inconsistent in other parameters.Karizma is not meant to be driven on roads but in races.A lot of fatal accidents happen on them.Karizma has raw power, great ride quality, sturdiness but lacks comfort and is not good handling as it is huge. Also parts get rusted often.Mileage poor.

Guys if you are about to choose your dream bike for whatever reasons be it power, mileage, good ride quality/handling, great comfort, decent road grip, sturdiness you cannot have a bike that has all good qualities in it.But CBZ knocks out iopposition in atleast a majority of parameters.Comfort is also decent.Only problem is when you apply brakes radomly the bike may stall, spin or skid .So apply both brakes gently and keep tapping them a number of times instead of a single time.150cc power is outputed in such a way that it gives a feel of a 180cc bike.Maintain speed continously to get good mileage.

My top contenders are CBZ extreme, Apache RTR , Unicorn, Discover 135cc FOLLOWWED BY PULSAR 180CC as this version has good power, ride quality and comfort but lacks handling, sturdiness.good road grip.

These are my take five.

Hope you get an idea from my experience and deep analysis as well as tests conducted on all of them in many different road conditions as well as scenarios such a traffic levels, concentration required while driving them etc.Cheers !!!!!!
