Jan 2008 - 10, 2 Years and 25k KMS of total mayhem and insane idiocy. It’s been 2 years since I have owned CBZ Xtreme and it has been purely crazy. It is one of the safest, powerful and reliable ride I ever had(I also had Pulsar for a year and a unicorn). One of the most effortless bikes to ride, she can glide through traffic like hot knife through butter and with every Twist in Wrist the engine sound goes orgasmic asking for more power and speed.
Together we have done many long distance journeys, pulled time trials like Dahisar to Santacruz in 17 minutes at noon and accomplished innumerable illegal, idiotic and death defying activities.With 14.4 PS power and 12.8 Nm torque it is a pure monstrosity unleashed on the road. Pillion have biggest problems with these figures coz with a slightly heavier twist in wrist and the bike either pops a wheelie or the pillion ends up with his back resting on the cowl or grab-rails.
The cast Iron piston, the heavy body, the rear mounted leg rest, the ergonomically designed tank to tuck your legs make it an aerodynamically efficient performance commuter bike coupled with well proportioned zappers, a straight up handle bar gives it exceptional maneuverability.
On highway she gives me an mileage of 65 and in city roads I get a mileage of 45-50.But there is problem with the bike though whenever I am at hooligan speeds the mileage drops down big time, highway clocks of about 50 and city mileage goes to 35.
She has even defied living on the edge a bit too much coz my shifter had lost it’s screw and fell down. One incident I could never forget was when I was on kandivali highway at 70 kmph and my bloody handlebar just came off, it freaking came off!I approached my dealer and he told me screw were not tightened properly during the last service.
But all in all the bike is a great package. My girlfriends think I gave way too much importance to bike than them but I can’t help it, she is worth it. The best bike I have come across with an overall package of punch and light on pocket.This is not a bike for rookies or wannabes, to get the best out of this bike you need to be a good rider. She is my best love affair.
