I will be brief. I took the hero honda cbz extreme on its first arrival lot in bhubaneswar, where I joined just one month back in the telecom sector as fresher. I always had a fantasy towards bikes of this shape. I consider its handling to be pretty easy.
Gear system is user friendly, mileage is optimal, speed and acceleration is awesome, and perhaps the best part is its smoothness and comfort. I drove it for more than 90 km in one day, and I did not feel tired at all..such is the comfort. style is awesome, colour could have been a bit better. Height is an issue, as I am 5’7’’, but nevertheless I feel no problem when I drive it alone. Pillion rider may create some discomfort for short people.
I have rode splendour, discover, pulsar-150, 180, 220, passion, suzuki-zeus, karizma, unicorn, hunk. and I will like to make a point here, relatively. CBZ beats unicorn in syle and comfort, hunk in smoothness and engine noise, its far better a deal from pulsar, whisch in my observations, produces regular problems of some or other types....and others are no match to its power.
Karizma is nice, but I didnt feel any difference in quality, or comfort, or smoothness in the two. Only power generated by karizma is little more( I felt so, the acceleration was not much different), but this little more power comes at a very heavy cost, so I preferred not to go for it.
one last thing-- if you are going for power, and smoothness, then at present technology, you cannot go for mileage. Good Luck.

After a long time, I am back with my review, Its now 4 years 9almost) and 15000 KM (not much actually) ... The Bike is going pretty well.. did use only one maintenance, and changes gear oil and engine oil... at around 5000 KM, its still giving the same service, perhaps better than the time I bought it.. Just on last sunday, I drove the bike for 200 KM on noida-greater noida expressway and Yamuna express way and back to delhi (not for bike-fun only !) and I reached a top speed of 128 KMPH.. good enought for, as I slowed down, and not the bike... yet no effect at all.. milege is still 40KMPL, and the beast is extremely strong and powerful ..... the pickup is still one of the best, I am always among the top 3 bikes when accelerating after a traffic signal !!.... Love it... comfort level is absolutely amazing. have rode it for 350 KM, a few days ago... with no problem.. except some ass-pain which is normal, after sitting stiff for so long... but really... I have rode many bikes.. and this one still stands among the best... perhaps the Karizma and pulsar 220 come close to its power... and fuel injection capacity...
No complains.. except that starting the bike after say 2/3 months of no-use is a little difficult.. and have learned the trick now.. from a mechanic.. so that problem is resolved... the brake could be a little more improved.. as the spring periodically get loose and I have to tighten it every fort night... (if you dont do that, the brake still works, only you have to press harder.. which I dont like).
met two accidents in last 4 years.... the bike has got a little damaged, the silencer and thebody......but other than that. I use it the most rough way.. and yet it seems the bike teases me ... only that much?? cant you be more rougher..
Suggestion:: You can go for this bike still today with your eyes shut... though you must accept its low milege (40 max) ... which for me is no problem, as long as I have such a powerful beast in my control.
