I have purchased CD deluxe cast self on 15-Sep-2009 at 43500 on road price in Chennai.
Reason for selecting this bike:-
We have 2 CD Deluxe vehicles in our family first one is being used by my uncle since 1985(yes 1985) and it clocked 99999 more than 4 times till now and is still going strong. The other one is CD100SS which we used for more than 10 years and sold out for Passion during 2002(already covered 90000 kms)
I have clocked 15000 km till now. My daily commute used to be 20km/day in the city plus other utility travel. I get 65-70 kmpl in city at 40-45 kmph speed and 75-80kmpl at 50kmph constant speed.
I haven’t incurred any maintenance costs till now other than oil change(which is about Rs.190-200 per filling).
The vehicle operation is very smooth under 60kmph. Once we cross that speed, I find some vibration in the vehicle and so I generally refrain from crossing the 60km limit.
The braking and lighting are really improved on the new CD deluxe. I find it better than the previous HH models. Night driving is really comfortable with even car drivers dipping to my hi-beam, which was not the case with the earlier HH models.
Even the new extra grip tyres are very comfortable and I find that the grip on the road and slippery surfaces and turns is improved compared to earlier CD 100 models.
Braking is very precise especially for the mid range speeds that I operate in. the engine noise is the same till now as it was when I purchased it- same refinement. Electric start never failed even when I dont take the vehicle out for more than 1 week.
Overall, it is a perfect vehicle for daily commuting with best fuel economy and reliability. But if you are looking for long drives then you will have to go for some other vehicles as its seating is not comfortable for long rides- your back starts paining and the vehicle will start vibrating beyond 60 kmph limit.
Overall, it’s a reliable work horse and value for money vehicle.
