My criteria of buying a bike was – (a)budget -- the lowest cost (b) Highest mileage (c) Resale value (d) Sturdy and essentially in that order ! . Well in 2004 the choice narrowed down to a CD Dawn or the Boxer CT since the latter was phasing out and loosing on point (c) , I choose the former.
The CD Dawn is a good blend considering the above criteria in totality and you bet I am quiet satisfied with the performance. It gives me about 55- 60 Kmph in city driving (I’ve clocked about 23000Km till date ) consistently although this figure is a far cry from what the ad said . The only breakdown I had was one front shock leaking after 7000Km which sets you back by approx Rs 1500/- (which I presume is my bad luck ! as I haven’t heard any one else have the same damage.)
For those who are on a low budget guess this is a safe bet although I heard that the CT100 has much better mileage performance.
