* I have been driving the Pulsar 150 ( the first model) since the last five years w/o. any maintainence whatsoever@ 40-42 kms./ltr.. Thought of upgrading & brought the HUNK in Jan 08 with an ON price of 4000.00 more. The very first time, I filled in the tank with Rs. 500.00 ( 10 LTRS.) of petrol & it gave me 380 kms.
Then there was a very strange problem, that the headlights & the tail lights would suddenly go dead after I drove for more than 4 kms. at a stretch & would again come back after I restarted the bike. Then it keeps going dead after every 2 kms. Bizzarre !! At 600 kms, I gave it for my first service at Max motors service centre at Bhandup, mumbai-78 & behold, after that the mileage went down to 30 kms./ ltr. The front disk brake started squeaking & the headlight / taillight problem was not rectified. The service centre people could not understand & finally informed that some rectifier had to be replaced &** that the company does not have any stock. !!!
At 2000 kms I went in for the next service & till today ( 3100 kms) I do not get more than 33 kms/ litre. The service people told me that it does not give more than 35 & that’s why even the company does not mention it’s mileage. So AM I DUPED ??The light problem is still there & the brakes still squeak. I am a very careful & alert driver as far as mileage is concerened, so this problem is in no way connected to my driving. I enrolled in the HERO HONDA PASSPORT SCHEME IN JAN 08 but still have’nt even got my passport from the company .I really feel I made a terrible mistake by buying this HUNK JUNK & would advise everyone to be very alert before you go in for the purchase.Beleive me, the service people were the worst ever & the second time, they were hammering the front headlight screw like there was no tomorrow. They did not even have the requisite tools. Think 100 times before you give your bike to such company affliated service centres.** Am thinking of selling it of & buying the PULSAR 150 DTSi
