Hello everyone,
I am not very clear on updadating this review. I initially wrote after I crossed 7k kms and now my Hunk has crossed 12K.
Below update is just to give you an overview on the problem that I faced with headlamps. Please read through my complete review.
Update on Dec12:
I always felt that headlamps were not good since the very first day I owned. There wouldnt be any light on the road if I used High beam(Not sure only my bike had this problem). I was about to replace the bulbs. Then I tried adjusting the headlamp little down. Not it works relatively better. I dont think I need to replace the bulb. Please refer the manual for adjusting. It does work!. Full review:
When I started hunting for my bike, I considered Pulsar, Unicorn and CBZ. Though I was using Old pulsar I am not much impressed with New one. Unicorn is a good bike, but still that did not impress me. Because it remains unchanged for yrs. So I decided to go for CBZ and visited Hero Honda Show room. Though I had rarely noticed on road, Hunk impressed me in the very first look with its muscular look. All the reviews about Hunk is very good. After so many confusions, I finally chose Blank color hunk.
I am 6 feet tall and drive for 40 kms a day and I have been driving diff bikes for the last 8 yrs. So I hope my review would be useful to you.
Look:
The front look of this bike is very good. But I am not sure it will impress everyone. Beleive me, the first look pulled from CBZ. As it is looks, it is really a big and heavy bike. Rear is not that good as that of front look.
Performance:
If you are a real biker, I am sure you will be impressed with its first ride itself. I have been driving this beast for last 7 months and covered 7000 kms. It is one of the best in its class. I reached a max speed of 108. I hope It can exceed 110(Yet to try that). The pick up is very impressive and it is stable in high speeds. Throttle response and handling are very good. Headlamp provides decent light for night rides.
On a nut shell, It just obeys you in all the situations and you will never be disappointed with its performance. While driving at optimal speeds(Gear shift at 4000 rpm and avg speed of 55-60) I get a mileage of 50-52 and never had below 49.
Braking:
I initially felt that front disk brake are not powerful as you need to pull the brake lever bit more while comparing with other bikes. But later I realized the design of the brake itself is like that. The brake does its job very well. Once you get used to this, you will have a very good control over the bike(Juz 100 kms of drive would do). MRF tyres give you enough grip. I tried the maximum possible sudden braking and it works really fine.
Comfort:
I am sure no other(Exclude Royal enfield) bike gives you this much comfort(I havent tried new CBZ with GRS suspension). So far, everyone who took the pillion seat have commented about this. As I am driving 40kms a day, I could feel riding comfort. The seats are big and soft enough and GRS suspension takes care of your back.
Cons:
The gear shift is the one area that hero honda can work on. It is relatively hard but not too hard. You might face cold engine starting troubles. I prefer using choke for cold engine start.
As I was using Pulsar, I miss the roaring engine sound, majestic horn and powerful headlamp.
Conclusion:
Briefly, It is a very good bike and worth for your investment. I am sure you will be completely satisfied with its performance. It is well built reliable bike with great comfort and performance.
Happy riding!
