Its been 6 months that I own my Karizma and I thought I would update everyone with its review. I previously had an Aquila which I sold on account of TERRIBLE HORRIBLE service from Laxmi Auto Mumbai. Also luckily I had an assignment to the USA which I completed and returned and did not want the bike to sit unused.
But a quick note on the Aquila - although the bike was lovely - I owned an Eliminator before that and did not like it one bit - the Aquila was a good ride : Stable, comfortable, solid and fun to ride. The service was pathetic beyond imagination . They completely let me down even on a simple thing such as tune-up. Its was with a heavy heart I sold that bike - but so be it.
Then came the decision for the next one - 180 DTSI vs the Karizma. Rode the 180 DTSI (not the new one with gas shocks but the one before that ) and must say I liked the bike very much - BUT I found it had that coarse and rough edge to it which I was not happy with. The test drive was not impressive. In fact I found the 150 DTSI smoother and with a better shift than the 180.
HHonda then made my day by cutting the price of the Karizma - I tested it, liked it and bought it.
6 months down - NO REGRETS !!! Its truly a beautiful machine and I recommend it to anyone who wants a top quality ’’keeper’’ of a vehicle for the price. I have only 2 gripes - it tends to sent vibrations to my hands from the handle bar - but that may ease off as I seat the engine properly. Second is I have a situation where in the morning the bike HAS to be started with the choke - no options and it takes some 10 mins to heat up properly. These two things are mild annoyances compared to the hours of pleasure this machine gives me.
Its terrific and I say - worth every penny.
