So, I have to write review here, correct? I remember, myself writing a review back in the year 2004 for my then new bike Bajaj wind 125, in this our very own Mouthshut. You can still find that review. I was a kid then, so you may find some in-expertise in that review :)
So, to simply start with - Like everyone who has a passion to ride bykes I do have that still in me. I am a soft-ware engineer now at Hyderbad. I recently thought of taking a new byke.
Options started appearing before my eyes like infinity. We write exams with maximum of 4/5 options, but to write a bike purchasing exam, Oh my god! I have many !!!! So, which one to choose?
I finally wanted to narrow down my options, so that I can choose the correct answer, to get full marks. My previous bike was 125cc, so I didnt want to ride 150cc which is close enough to my old one. So rounded off myself to 180cc, 200cc and 225cc, 350cc.
Now you know, which bikes am I talking bout - Pulsar 200, 220, Avenger-200cc, Karizma-223, Royal enfield-350. I would have gone with what majority of indians do, wud have gone with Pulsar 200/220cc. I just then had one question in head. In looks Pulsar is good. Why Bajaj makes Pulsar 200 luk_like Pulsar 150/180? Even Pulsar 220cc, if I remove the front flaring, its a normal pulsar again.
Leave behind the cosmetic changes like wider rear tyre, cut-seat etc., am not considering them at all. For the same looks of Pulsar 150cc, why should I pay more for Pulsar 200/220cc. It could be that they have powerful engines inside..but Bajaj should have brought a different model al_together in 200+ category. Are they lazy?
Avenger? hmm........I always had 10% option of chosing this. So had to drop of this bike plan :) Royal enfield? - Well you see guys, I just dropped this bike plan, with_out even thinking. You understand why? I dont want to carry a weight, but I want something to carry me :)
hmm.....so what is left out? Karizma R - It got looks. Any one deny this? After 5+yrs of launch, its still a head turner on roads. Took a test_ride from show_room at Hyderabad. It was mind-blowing. The pick_up/weight distribution/the suspension was really...really amazing. Just then I knew the reason why Karizma is still selling even after 5+ yrs in India. It got excellent manuerability, I drove with 45 degree angle, without a fear in head.
Do you think Pulsar 220 will have that much sale-life like karizma does? I dont think so. And, manuerability of Pulsar is not good enough. I dont want to talk about this DTS-I stuff, they boast about. I dont hate bajaj, but the bikes they bring-out are non-reliable. The beating-noise changes after 5 months, I dont understand what-n-all they put-up in engine and make that DTS-I.
A trip of 142 kms with 4 litres of petrol on ma karizma gave me 35.5 km/lit which is really, really great for this CC Engine. Truly Karizma is the one to go for as of now in India at 200+ category still. Well, I know there is ZMR, but then, I didnt like that front fairing, so had to stick with Karizma R itself. We know, both bikes have same heart(engine. Any Comments/views responses are most welcome
