Jet Set GoBefore I own a Pulsar Classic model and spend almost 6 happy years, over 1 lakh km with it. When I purchased pulsar that time karizma was not born.
Thats why I have to wait solong for this dream machine. Just after purchased pulsar, karizma lunched and when I saw this bike, at the 1st look I love this bike and I m also a roadies fan.
So karizma was not just a bike for me it was my dream. After 6-7 year I decided to change my bike and start enquiry about bikes on ms, bhp and many sites and also on my cell wap I used to read bike reviews. I have option of yamha fz16. pulsar 220, RTR 160, yamaha R15 and Thunderbird TS.
But yamha fz16 good for street driving with a perfect tag of lord of streets. In highways it is not good as karizma. when I saw pulsar 220 and read reviews about 220 I forget it. RTR 160, well honestly I dont like the bikes from TVS and also I test drive one, engine is not so much refined. R15 good and have unique features but size is problem for me and Thunderbird, this is a beauty but being a city driver useless for me.
And this the fact that the long love for the karizma and possitive comments and reviews on many sites force me to go for JET SET KARIZMA. ALWAYS GAME. Then about 3-4 month of trying to buy this bike, I dont know I m failed to buy this for verious reasons, I have many tentions at that time. So finally on 30th jan 09’, asusual I was busy on reading reviews on my bed with my cell.
That day I slept at 2’o clock and wake up on 31st jan with a odd time at 9.00am. Suddenly I feel today is auspious occassion of Saraswati puja. So why not try for the bike. Then I call to Bharat Motors, Bhubaneswar, for the bike, they said they have only one piece, BLACK with Red wheel. I know Black and yellow karizma have better looks than others.
But I have fear of black. So I go near to a astrologer for know which colour suits on me. But he was very busy for saraswati puja. So I m back with decission that today is Satday, the day of maa kali and I should go for black. Then me and my friend go to bbsr, with my pulsar and that was my last journey with my pulsar. BBSR or Bhubaneswar is 65 km away from my home.
On the road we just take bananas as our lunch. At 2.30 pm we reach at show room and quickly got delivery of bike. Altough I faced some problem at Atm for withdrawing money. At last I came back at 6.00 pm and I was so happy with my new bike.
Come to the point
From every angle this is a great looking stylish bike. Very much smooth engine with 223 cc, 17 bhp at 7000 rpm. Kerb weight of 150 kg and a long wheelbase it gives very much stability at any speed. Start ur bike finish ur gears, look at the speedo it is 60-70 at a flash. It is recomonded to dont exceed over 70 till 2nd service. Atleast till 1st service maintain the speed below 60-65. My bike is now almost 900kms in 16-17 days and finished 1st service. Newly it gives a milege of 35/ltr with speed petrol with mix riding at highway and town. After 1st servicing engine is more smooth and silky and pickup is awesome.
Newly u have to face trouble like hard gear sift and difficulty to fine neutral and at kick starter is very hard. Some time I irritate and use the self. Light is not so good. U have to change. Head is equal to dipper. I faced many problem due to light. May be my light setting have to done correctly and it has no leg guard which is also a drawback and horn is like a yobike horn. But these drawbacks are nothing for me. Bcoz I got what I want from a bike. Looks, Speed, Safety, stability.

update on 07/04/2009 and after 3000 kms- Hi friends, Now by bike touched near 3000 kms and I have finished 2nd servicing. After some day from 1st servicing to 2nd servicing I had many problems like fulse gear sift, difficulty to finding neutral, poor pickup and a irritating sound from engine. When I go for 2nd servicing at show room my problems are vanished. After 2.5k kms bike is superb and no complain at all. Pickup, stability, smoothness all are just top class. And I noticed one thing that when u start ur bike early morning use the kick start and choked it and leave it for 10 sec then off the choke and for 4-5 kms drive it under 50. Then after the heating of engine u can drive it more smoothly and pickup, mileage, smoothness will be better. This is my point of view. U can use ur own. I will be right back after some days.
