I had a splendor earlier. As I got used to the bike, I was feeling the lack of
pickup in the bike, when most of the bikes on the road are pulser. I don’t
have a proper place to keep a car, I thought of buying karizma which I can
use for long rides on weekends and get good pickup and comfort as well.
I like the vehicles look, balance, comfort, stability at high speeds, lights
and wheels. I dislike its horn, pickup (they could have made it better and
smoother in the lower gears. If 180cc is 16.5, why 223cc is 17 ?) and
gears (I am mentioning some problems with gears below).
My karizma is 2000 km old. The pickup is best in the third and fourth
gears. In the first two gears I feel like pushing the vehicle (sometimes I
felt that the pickup is good in 1st and 2nd also, particularly when I return
to city after a long ride), but in 3rd and 4th, it feels like the bike will leave
me behind and go. in the fifth gear the pickup is good.
I have touched 125km/h (it was pretty stable) and the throttle was still not fully opened.
I did this when overtaking a qualis. The brakes are very good. So u can
apply the brakes when u are very near to the signal. It will stop
immediately. I have crossed through in between lorries at speed of 80.
very sharp turns can be taken at high speeds. I have some problem with
the gears. If I slow down the vehicle to almost stop on high gears (4th
and 5th), sometimes its not possible to lower the gears any more until i
move the vehicle a bit.
Sometimes its difficult to find the neutral, it goes directly to 1st or 2nd. I think these problems can be eliminated bypractice.
The pillions seat is very high and slippery. The pillion feels like
falling at sudden pickup and sudden brakes. Girlfriends may not have this
problem if she holds the rider properly. So its more rider friendly than
pillion. The sitting position is good.
I didn’t feel tired even after 4 hours of ride.
Riding it on the highway is a real fun. It becomes more and more
comfortable at high speeds and if u don’t have to change gears very
frequently. In heavy traffic I really dislike to ride it. I have never checked
the mileage as I never allow it to go to reserve. I guess its giving around
35.
If u want a vehicle for use only in the city and for normal home to office
use, I will not recommend this vehicle because u don’t need to spend
much money on the cost of the vehicle and fuel. For long rides on
weekends through the highway, karizma is really excellent.
It can even be used an alternative for a car if there are only two people, dust and air flow can be avoided by using a helmet.
And if u want to get noticed when u areon the road, u should go for it.
I saw a comet on the road today and it turned the head of a karizma rider, I cannot afford to go for it though.
