K I own an old p180dtis (5000+ kms ) without alloy wheels gives me milage of 40 flat .... its a killer of a bike on roads n even HH krizma(zma) can match its pickup ... topspeeds 130(singelseated) on full throttel , gos 115-120 on double seat also thoug ma max speed wz 140 on a slope wt me duckin under d windsheild 4 better aerodynamics .... tis now birngs me to its problmes .... coz I dirve it real harsh
fr wheel out is very often on d 180 coz its too heavy n powerful 4 its spokes ..(thts y they put mag wheels on d new pulsars at d same old price )
goes into false neutrals on ne gear but tis happens coz of chanin gears hard + its a perenial problem wt ne bajaj bike ...
d kick is too hard n u sumtimes get a kickback frm it ...
d disks r sharp whn bike is new but as it gets older they get very slack n need time to time maintainence ...
sharp turnings at high speeds r not advisable as d bike could go too wide thn wht u expect ... n thn u would hav to tilt a lot ...
d rear tyre has no groves in d center which makes it more prone to skiddin in wet or slippery surfaces ...
now tis birngs me to d new pulsar dtsi real hardwrok been pur into it to solve ploblems of d old ....
gear shifin is much smoother ...
mag wheels so no wheel out probs ...
they hav indeed fine tuned d engine , gear ratios n exhaust for better milage ...
d new dtsi run on a different pwr band n so d speed 10kms slower thn d older one ...
d tank size has been reduced from 18 to 15ltrs
d new rear suspeinsions r gas filled n work much much better ....
tyre rim sizes r 17inchs which gives it better pick up thn d old dtsis ...
really hard to say if d new pulsar dtis with mags has ne cons at all its a real value 4 money ...
d new 1 gives better milage thn d old dtsi especially in 180cc catrg(old - 40kms , new - 44-50 kms in city)
but I feel tht d older pulsar 180dtsi pulls much harder n better ...
1st gear can be pulled upto 40 if u dont mind tearing up d silencer ....
{2nd(60) 3rd(80) 4th(100) 5th(125)}
n u will have a real ball gettin a HH-zma to chase u coz HH-zma cant hit 100 b4 d pulsar does ....
but at high speeds d HH-zma will beat d 180dtsi handsdown wtout ne probs tis is coz p180 pulls max in 2nd n 3rd gears but HH-zma pulls max in 4th-5th gears
but comparin hh-zma 76000 on road in mumbai wt milage of 25-35kms/l and p180dtsi 67000 on road wt milage 40-50kms is pointless ....
personally hh- kariZMA has much better comfort ... but p180dtsi old as wel as new r barebone road monsters ....
