Review : Hi All, This is my first review on this site:
Well I just became an owner of Hero Honda Passion. Well to begin with it makes a very decent , dependable executive bike but it no great shakes however.
Let me go about my listing some of the parameters :
Pick-up : decent but not powerful.It is a bloody heavy bike to be sitting on a Splendour engine !!! So weight -power ratio is dismal. Doesnt give you the feeling of a machine raring to go!! This makes for a very safe bike if you wanna gift it to you college going younger bro, as these kids may get reckless sometimes. With two people or on a steep incline, this machine requires generous throttle .
Mileage : I was shocked when before the first service this returned a mileage of 27!! However after the first service I get a decent mileage of 45-47 kmpl , nowhere in the range of 55 kmpl that the dealer promised me, however it is respectable.
Power and the Gears : Well Passion Plus and splendour share the same engine and this boy is 15kgs heavier , so weight takes it’s toll. The acceleration is not crisp and immediate, there is certain lag. Contrary to the instruction manual - the 2nd and the 3rd gear start whining up from 20 kmph and 30 kmph respectively, the weight in play again. The engine start complaining up from 70 kmph and road grip becomes a little shaky, certainly not designed for high speeds.
Lights:
Horrible lights . The lights go out in a fan like beam which gives a very poor visibility at good speeds .Are u listening hero honda.
Ergonomics : Excellent on this front. Good and broad seat. Comfortable to ride . Easy and good turns . Pillion seat is also comfortable.
Looks: Great !! A very good improvement to splendour. A good height for tall people like me. Comfortably placed odometers and fuel guage etc.
All in all a good buy if u are not a budding dare devil or a speed maniac, but some one of controlled deposition. Makes a very reliable companion with a honda engine.
