I purchased my Hero Honda Passion in year 2001. At that time it was being advertised at one of the trendiest bikes. As like others, I also wanted the ’’Whats in’’ class of bike.
I won’t hesitate to say that Passion is like OLD WINE in NEW BOTTLE. i.e. everything is from Hero Honda Splendor with revised body and looks and little more slanting seating.
It weighs 5kg more than splendor. The speedometer section, engine in passion seems to be from spendor. It gives average not more than 50-55 kmpl if maintained otherwise it would drop to 45-50 range.
Being father of two kids I also use it with kids and wife. I would definately not recommend passion for such situation because of more slanting seat. One should rather go for bike with straighter seating.
Further it has no provision for attaching side box storage on right hand side due to the design. Once can force the fitting with custom made bracket but that would spoil the look and get the side surface scratched.
