I have been a bike rider for 15 years now. I have driven all bikes available to the present market. from java, yezdi, bullet, sooraj motors diesel version, rajdoot to the present day CBZ, eliminator and Pulsar.
Thanks to Industrialist the consumers have so much choice.
Now it is upto individual what he wants out of the bike he wants to buy.
These are my personal opinions. I have a Hero Honda Sleek bought in 1989 and is still going strong. You need to have a passion for it. If the bike is maintained well it pays you well in long run. Till toady I actually follow the hero honda Slogan. Fill it, Shut it and Forget it . the maintenance cost per year is averaged to 300/- excluding petrol.
Hero honda is the most economical and technically well designed. It is meant for common man to do daily chorus. It
is a workhorse of his daily routine.
You can expect a 60 kms in a city driving and 66-70 on a highway irrespective of what company says. It has 7.2 Break horse power which sometimes one feels is less compared to other bikes with 10-11, but the 7.2 bhp is good for the job. With more BHP, more petrol is required and heavier maintenance.
This bike is meant or people who count every rupee in their pocket. It is economical, technically well designed, has good looks and does a great job without any hassels or major maintenance.
but if one is looking for racing, Wheely, negligent maintenance and rough care on bike this is not the one.
