Have a very bad experience about the battery of new bike. I had purchased a new HERO HONDA SPLENDOUR BIKE from Bangalore in Feb2006. I carried out the servicing at the same authorised service centre as per the schedule. Immediately after the last servicing, it was pointed out that the battery is not functioning well. It was brought to the service centre many times to rectify the problem. Finally in Sept 07, the battery was claimed to be repaired.
However within 36 hrs, the battery again started giving the problem and now is absolutely not functioning. The battery had a warranty of 1 year and hence the battery mfr is refusing to replace it. This is clearly an example of providing spurious batteries by Hero Honda. The battery has a warranty of 1 year, but it’s life is certainly more than 3-4 years. The problem occured just immediately after 1 year (and being pointed out) so neither battery mfr nor HERO HONDA wash off thier hands. Why do HERO HONDA ask for maintaining the service schedule at the authorized service centre ? Just to say that our responsibility ceases as you have maintained the schedule ?? I understand that many customers are now complaining about spurious batteries being provided by EXIDE to HERO HONDA.
