My Dad purchased this bike is 2012 after selling his previous bike, a Diesel Bullet. The reason he purchased this bike is because the Bullet was heavy and he got back pain due that bike and so doctor advised him to buy and use a Light weight bike. The second Reason is, The Bullet was about 21 yrs old and so that bike could do any further and that made us to buy a new one.
We didn’t go for much choices because their weren’t many and also Splendor was the top bike at that time and the best in term of mileage which gave about whooping 60kmpl.! And so we selected the Hero splendor. A bike with nominal pricing under 50k. A very light weight bike, a guy with just 50 kgs can handle the bike with ease. Low maintenance cost. Just costs about Rs.400 for 6 months which other may cost over 1200. The bike is very compact with short handles and so u Can handle Traffic pretty easily.
Excellent mileage. When purchased new, the bike gave about 60kmpl. Its about 3 yrs old and still the bike about 60 to 70 kmpl thats impressive. Cheap Replacement parts. Available everywhere at all showrooms and repair centers. There are some drawbacks too. Speed doest no exceed 80kmpl, thats bad for bikers. BUT I consider this safe. The bike’s breaks are not that strong because of lack of disk breaks. Bike’s Battery is very weak. If head light is on, the horn sometimes does work.
I mean, it works but not powerful. Expect this 3 things the bike awesome and I like the most. I would recommend this to people who are lean and can’t handle heavy bikes and people who expect best mileage and want to handle traffic easily, can buy this bike for sure. The bike is suitable for all kinds of class starting from lower, middle and even upper class people. I would say hero splendor is a best Indian bike suitable for ALL. May that class, or age or size. ALL.
