I have been a Fan of the Splendor right from the days when it was first introduced .
I have had two splendors from that time (for five years each)and now I own the more powerful Super Splendor.
For me it is the best and most practical bike in the world.
I agree that it has been around for so many years now and is facing stiff competition from Pulsar and co; but they are miles away from providing the ride quality and smoothness of the Splendor.i dont know why people go for the pulsar , maybe because of the masculine styling but thats where all its good qualities end.
i have driven Pulsar, Fiero etc , they have oodles of power but of what use is power when after driving for even half an hour u have a sour back , cramps in the legsand handswhich basically indicates ride position in these bikes is real bad.
Other factors in favour of Splendor are its unmatched Fuel efficiency and great reliabilty (it has never failed me on long drives )and an extremely smooth low noise engine(typical of honda bikes)
Also the vibrations are comparatively less , compare this to bikes from yamaha and suzuki which have high levels of vibration and have a typically shrill engine sound.
And to top it all is an affordable price.
What a Great package.
On the flip side one would argue that it is still a 100cc bike in the era of high power bikes. But the next generation release the super splendor addresses that as well with a 125 cc engine.
