Hi again,
It gives me great pleasure to write about this particular motorcycle not because I own it or like it but because I love it... a lot. I first saw the advertisement for the splendor when I was abroad and never knew that one day I would be in India. On watching the ad I was in luv with it from the start, the beat, the looks, the name too I mean the Honda label is one that almost any kid would be able to relate to it. Another thing I liked about it was the mind blowing colour, I mean Candy Red is the kind of colour that would make anyone go gaa gaa. In some corner of my heart I kept a flame burning for it. When I found out I was coming to India I knew what had to be done and went in immediately for a Splendor that was in 97 and the colour... you got it Candy Red. Now I had settled down in Andhra Pradesh and the traffic here is crazy to the core.
The experiences after that eventful day was something that will be a remembered forever for me. It is elegance, power and class personified. It practically stands up and proclaims that youve arrived. The handling too is wonderful it allows the rider to sit back and enjoy the drive. My father used to tell me that son if u take care of your bike it will take care of you. That is an understatement in the case of the Splendor, my bike has saved me on many occasions. This is not the main reason of writing this article the point here is what makes this bike special. The Splendor is in a class of much competition which means a lot of rivalry from other brands and makes. In the same segment and cost category you have the Bajaj Boxer , Yamaha Crux, Kinetic Challenger, etc. Some offering lesser price tags, some fuel efficiency and the others added features. What do they work out to is my question? The Honda stables has a lot of thoroughbreds on offer but the most popular and dependable is the splendor by far. Sure the price mentioned in the Mouthshut review is understated I think right now the Splendor is about 47000rs. now and the mileage is about 65-70kmpl.
The bike I have right now is giving me 77kmpl. I guess this bike is suitable to riders of any age as long as they are above 16yrs of age. A pleasure to own and ride a boon for anyone who has to travel long distances and in peak traffic. People who have a flair for style and off course anyone who appreciates performance. I have seen a couple of female riders on Splendors too so this means anyone can ride it. My suggestion to anyone who reads this article is that the Splendor is the bike that anyone will appreciate and if you want to know more about it tell you what ride it youll see what I mean.
