When I purchase Splendor in Y2K, about a 5 year back, I was not willing to buy Splendor but wanted to buy a Caliber!!! But, I started getting strong recommendation from my collegues, friends and other fellows who were close to me. So, finally I went for a spelndor.
I have been using the bike for last 5 years. I am more than extremely satisfied with the bike. Prior to making any comment on the product, let me clarify about me as a consumer/customer. I have two vehicles for three of family members, Self, wife and 4 year old kid. As a result, most of the time I use my car when I am with my family. With my limited usage per day but with long association with the product, I am writing my review. Other heavy-users may have different views.
Following are my observation on spelendor:
Points
It is very silent bike, you will love its sound.
It requires very less maintenence.
It has great look.
Even if it is not used for days (when I am away on holidays/tours), It restarts without much efforts.
Although I am not meticulous about fuel economy calculations, I have observed it giving me fuel economy of 65-70 KMPH even after 5 years.
It has good resale value.
Good suspension and comfortable ride.
Points
Its spares are costly.
Being largest selling bike, authorised service dealers are loaded with service work. They provide very poor service.
Pickup needs some improvement, when pillion is with you on your bike.
I could took it upto a max speed of 75-80 KMPH. With other bike, I had comfortably gone upto 90-95 KMPH.
Sale Price is higher to its competitors.
I will surely recommend it to all who are known to me.
