I bought my first four stroke vehicle Hero Honda Street Smart about a year ago. Being a short guy, I had few options like M-80 four stroke or Bajaj BYK. As I was not willing to spend a lot of money on the vehicle buy was looking for an used one. After few weeks of survey and test rides, I finally got one 2000 model in a very well shape and condition for half the original price.
Since last one year, I have driven more than 4000 kms on this vehicle and I feel that this is the BEST vehicle that Hero Honda has ever produced for city driving. Street Smart’s rotary gears makes it very comfortable to drive in congested traffic conditions like Pune.
The best thing that I love about SS (Street Smart) is, I can stop in the Top Gear which relieves me from changing gears. Riding of this vehicle is really excellent and lower height makes it very comfortable for short persons like me. Mileage..don’t ask about it ! Hero Honda has really proved itself ’Fill it..shut it and Forget it !’. Though SS has small capacity fuel tank, it is good enough I feel.
I get a mileage in the range of 65-70 km / litre of petrol. Luggage cabin in the front is very convenient to dump small grocery items while coming back from office. Dashboard is also of good quality and much better than M-80 four stroke or Bajaj BYK. The vehicle is sturdy and maintenance free.
The only drawback of this vehicle is it’s narrow tyres and thus one needs to be careful while taking a sharp turn. Overall I am very satisfied with my buy and would recommend anyone who would like to go for it.
