Cost of new silencer

I have a Super Splendor 2007 model. There is a drop in mileage and pickup. The service center said there is a leakage in the silencer near the engine and it needs to be replaced. The price they have quoted is Rs.4500/-. Is that the right price? My bike has cross 40, 000Km mark. Is it time to replace?
