I bought Hero Velocity for Rs 35000 from Aspiration motors Pune for my wife. Thinking it will save on fuel cost which it sure did in the start. 2-3 months there wasnt much of a problem with it. You need to keep the battery charged and it would run for 40 km with 2 of us on board.
But my happy days were soon to be over. After a few months and 4000 KMs the front disk brakes lost their braking power. I had to get them repaired for Rs 250.
After 4500 KMs the speedometer stopped working. I didnt got it repaired as the dealer said there is no use in repairing the same as it wont last. The mileage also dropped dramatically. The bike also didnt run more than 30 Km on full charge.
The front shock absorbents started making a noise and giving jerks. Now the dealer had stopped selling these bikes as his tie up with ultra motors ended. He started a new showroom BSA motors. Just in 2 years time, one day the bike wont start. I called the showroom a number of times but no body was ready to come and have a look at it.
They said it to bring it there. Now pushing a 100 kg bike for 5-6 kms is not a joke. I then tied it behind my Yamaha and towed it to the showroom (with my cousins help)
The dealer said the battery is bulged and I need to replace the battery worth Rs 10000.
When I had bought the bike the dealer had said that the battery will last for 36000 KMs do not worry.
And the cost of battery would be Rs 5500 only.
The bike had run not more than 7000 KMs and now the dealer says the battery will cost Rs 10000 and also no gurantee how long will it last.
The worst decision taken was to buy this bike.
All the money spent on it is now wasted as the bike is now lying idle at my house.
The dealer is not ready to take it back as he says no one will buy a second hand one (He has difficulty selling the new one)
I will not recommend anyone to buy this bike.
