It was a peaceful monday morning and I was as usual leaving for work when my eyesight was caught on an article in that days Times Of India.
It was about a book & I being crazy about books just couldnt skip it.
It was an article on Hes Just Not That Into You:The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccilo.
Well, whats so special about this book. Even I couldnt believe it when I read that this book was hard to find in the US than an honest boyfriend!!.The book has been fast disappearing from the book shelves & still there is a huge demand for it due to which 410, 000 copies of book are being printed.
My friend was in US and just returned from there yesterday and she too had the book. She told me that the book is so popular out there, that due to its scarcity people are sharing books and a single book is read on an average by at least 5 american females. Never in the recent past has there been such a huge popularity for any book. I wondered what the book is all about. I had never even heard about it. Later I learned that the book was published recenltly in August 2004. So I idecided to go through the book.
The book is an advice to women, on handling issues ranging from dating to mare delicate ones like sex, with men
This book is a little stereotypical of men, but sadly, it is also all true! And as if this wasnt enough the book is also co-written by a man!
The title straight out of one of the popular show on TV:Sex and the City is becoming more popular than Mr. Bush in the US!
Basically its a Bible for women advicing them to stop wasting time over a man just because Hes Just Not That Into You. It helps women in interpreting what men are trying to say(poor men, they are gonna have it now). Women often feel that man have mixed messages. They said something by which they meant I love You. This book is completely against it. It educates women how to interpret a guys message that implies he no longer likes her.
The poor guy obviously cant say this on her face but his actions reveal it.It advices women how to judge a man who doesnt like her so that they can stop wasting their time on him. This they can judge from their mans actions. I personally being a guy dont completely agree with this. Men as they are known are born to be less romantic and least emotional. They themselves are not considerate enough to handle emotions and hence they remain taciturn when it comes to women.(Mind you! my personal opinion but I feel that most men will agree with it;-)).
The book does help a woman feel liberated. It helps them overcome their emotions and stop wasting time waiting for her man to call or mail.According to the author if a guy is into you he calls, he shows up, he wants to meet your friends, he cant keep his hands or eyes of you and when its time for sex hes more than happy to oblige. In short when men want you, they do the work but when they dont, dont expect any of the above to happen. It advices women to live their own life and find that Mr.Right who is into her.
The book also advices a women to never ask a man out for a date, they should stop waiting for men to feel ready for marriage or have children and lots more (Poor American guys, I wonder how they would be handling their relationships! They must surely be cursing the author for coming up with such novel ideas). The book is surely provocative and at time hilarious. A must for any women on the brink of starting a new realtionship. If satistics are to be followed it does help married women also. As far as male population goes they must be cursing the author and would love to see the author being fried raw for letting out their secrets to women.Guys, we all are gonna have a hell sort of time now onwards.
Although the book is recommended for both the sexes there is some laxity on part of the author. He does not mention anything about a guy who tries to get into a woman. But SOME women have such a sky rocketing attitude they just ignore this guy. The author says that when men speak their message is clear an no mixed feelings are involved, but the question is do men get to speak in an argument with his women?. I feel most of the male community wont like this book because it is discussing positive aspects of feminism, but then whatever is mentioned here, I feel is true. Women have a right to choose their own life and feel liberated & not waste time over a guy who doesnt care much about her.
A piece of advice for guys only (but I am sure women will also read it), grab this book before your better half gets her hands on it and follow the advice. Call her immediately if you havent for past couple of days, meet her, talk to her or else one day she will come to you and say Darling You Are Not Just That Into Me. I am leaving you! Bye!. God help you then.
Hope to see your comments.
