If you are really into enjoying the movie for what the story is and the twists - Hide and seek IS the movie for you. But if you are the kind who critically evaluates every actor’s each move and say how you could have done better - Please Hide and don’t Seek
I AM NOT GOING TO TELL YOU THE STORY COZ THAT SPOILS THE WHOLE ISSUE..
Let me tell you what you need to know. This is the story of a phychologist (De Niro) and his wife and their cute little girl. De Niro and his wife are having marital problems. One Night at 02..06am- precisely he finds his wife dead in the bath tub- she had cut her wrists.
This is also witnessed by their child who later experiences trauma. To get her back to normal, De Niro takes takes a house in the countryside but things get worse. She gets friendly with an imaginary friend named- CHARLIE; who wants to take revenge on Di Niro for letting her mother die. Split Personality, isnt it?? BUT THATS JUST THE BEGINNING !!!!!!!
WHATS GOOD ABOUT IT??
> All the characters give credible performences. Kudos to the little girl. M really sorry I dont remember their names.
> The story gives you the suspense value maily in the second half when the twists and turns begin.
> The camera movement and dialogues add to the chills
> The movie leaves you thinking what next
> If you give a thought at correlating the subtle behavorial changes of the shown characters in the movie after the plot is revealed, you will be surprised how well each of the scenes are connected are correlated.
> It does give you the necessary chills needed on a credible basis.
WHATS BAD ABOUT IT??
> Yes, the story progresses real slowly in the first half. But it is NOT boring.
> If you try, you can probably guess the plot in the beginning, but I assure you- Even if you guess the plot right, you wont get the logic right till the movie reveals it. But arent all movies the same??
TRIVIA
For the first time in 70 years, 20th Century Fox shipped prints of Hide and Seek, without the final reel, which would be shipped separately. This was done as a security measure as so people wouldn’t be able to reveal the final ending.
Finally, if you are looking out for a cool chiller, HIDE and SEEK is right for you. A girl on my left seat way crying and another one had her eyes shut tight and I swear it wasn’t me!!
