Imtiaz Ali, the director whom I trust a lot, the director whom I have faith in that he wont disappoint his audiences has come up with his best work, I know that a debatable issue.
One thing which I liked about highway is that not a plain and smooth ride you, its a bumpy ride which probably our Indian highways’ are.
STORY:
The plot of the movie is very good, the concept of finding freedom in bondage and falling in love with kidnapper might be a bit common in hollywood but its still fresh and good. Imtiaz has written the screenplay and plot in a good manner, the past of the lead character are also nice but you might find some confusion in Randeep hooda’s story but it is overshadowed by the developing feeling and chemistry between the lead characters. The dialogues are sharp and some have deep meaning, overall well written.
CAST:
Alia bhatt: OMG! again I would like to refer to the director here, he succeeds in bring out the best from ordinary actor, whether its Kareena, Deepika, or Ranbir, and this time its Alia, this film would have been a boring if Alia would have ruined her performance but she gets into the skin of her chacter and you can imagine any other actor apart from Alia. She was phenomenal yaar;
Randeep Hooda: Well he is a superb actor and everyone knows that.His character Mahbir is very intense but child from heart, the emotions scene were well acted by him and I only wish that he gains a lot of success
MUSIC:
It’s A.R.Rahman man you can expect it that it will be awesome but some would quarrel that its not upto the mark like his previous movie with imtiaz rockstar was, I would say its the story and the demand for the right amount of music for the story.
Cinematography:
Anil metha’s visuals are one of the best which a cinematographer can bring, we get to know the beauty of our country through his lens, connecting to the script, the people, mountains, I would recommend to watch this film in theater to live his visuals, I bow down to you sir.
DIRECTION:
I have already told this that this is his best work till date, this time he uses silence to absorbs the story and make us get into the character. A good director is the one which brings out the best from his team members and he does that. He does his homework properly and looks at minute details, yes their are some flaws but they can be overshadowed.
VERDICT:
Go for it with a open mind this highway is not atypical imtiaz ali film this time he deals with some dark issues don’t go with a mind that he is Jab We Met director and don’t expect a movie like that its different and beautiful. This a road which I feel everyone must go on it.
