Without dying how we will enter the heaven?   How the people who deserve a place in hell will get it without dying?   When people who deserve heaven extend their stay in this earth they try to make the earth as a heaven where the people who deserve hell when extend their stay in this earth, they make this earth as a hell as well.

In this earth, we create our own heaven.  Each as their own.    Some create their heaven at home, in relations, friends, nature…some do it in faith and religion.   When somebody else enters our closed heaven we assume they deserve hell and act against them.  To claim our heaven back we will go to any extend.   In this process we may lose our strength and hope.  When we close one door or exit, god opens another for us.   We find our strength in another source.  Many a time our opponents know our love and utilize it to weaken our efforts.    Those who find strength in their love will gain it.

Capt. Vikram Madan (Shiney Ahuja) who once was the pilot of a hijacked plane is under suspension from flying for opening the cockpit despite warnings.   He lost his wife in the incident and his only hope is his daughter.   Terrorists hijack another plane to claim release of their leading activist Maqsood (KK Raina) who is in police custody.   Vikram’s daughter too was traveling in the plane and she too now is a hostage.   The ever impatient Vikram could not wait and now he decides to try it all alone.   He manages to enter the plane and his operation to kill the hijackers is progressing…see the movie to know how he did that and more.

The director Kunal Shivdasani deserves applauds for beautifully visualizing and executing the movie in most of the part.   The story was build up quite convincingly, preparing the background well and creating the emotional bonding with many of the sub characters.  The movie however was progressing on incidents than casts or characters.  (This in a way protects the movie where the director was a failure in giving the best look his cast can give out.    Look at Shiney Ahuja of Bhool Bhulaiya, Metro or Gangster and compare with Hijack and you know what I am talking about.)    The events keep the audience concentrate on screen which I consider as a major plus for any film.   The last minute of the movie was however more dramatic.   These turns were interesting the way it is pictured, however the writers failed over here and how!  In any case this doesn’t reduce the impact of the film where the pace compensates for the lack of logic.    Over all, efforts by the director need applaud.

Shiney Ahuja looks sleepy and the actor looks lost weight considerably in many scenes.  Thankfully he comes up with his usual performance with vigor in the proceedings inside the plane.    At the end his performance can rate as average.   Esha Deol, as airhostess who helps Vikram to kill terrorists was good in most of the scenes.   KK Raina was superb, so was Satyajeet who played an important role in the film as Kumar, the terror compacting wing’s chief.   Kaveri Jha looks beautiful but only had a small role to perform.   Rest of the cast was competent.

Music was good and choreography was very good.  Cinematography was excellent.

The major plus of the film is the gripping story and suspense injected to the scenes.   The execution of scenes was good in most of the part, say 80%.     The villain has given a free hand to show its strength.    Good cinematography, music and choreography helped the proceedings.

On the negatives of the film, Shiney’s look in some part is major one.    There is good number of flaws in the script as well.     Editing could have been better.    The execution of scenes, though good in most part falls in some parts to red zone.    The passenger reaction to the hijack was just the reverse.  The way they sit and relax in the plane was like a joke.  The only child in the plane who don’t react to her father’s presence and the comfort she is showing was height of poor execution.

Overall, the movie is interesting and gripping with well executed shots, moderate performance, good music and excellent cinematography.     Recommended for a watch!
