#Himesh Himesh Ka kasooor.....#

A peaceful night in Mumbai. The silence is so thick you can literally cut it with a knife, a stillness so absolute, it encomapasses a lot more than tranquility. The ideal setting for me to unwind with a good book. But suddenly, a voice cuts through the air: it isn’t a cry for help, it isn’t a wail uttered in distress.....its apna Himesh belting out his nasal renditions at full blast. Unnnnnnnnnnnnnnghhhnnnnnnn........ he goes, thinking that his extra loud and downright obnoxious voice endears him to listeners. Mr. Himesh Reshammiya, let me tell you, you are under a misconception: you are simply a royal pain in the neck sometimes!! Let’s take a look at the life, style and andaaz of nasal paingiver, Hmesh reshamiya:

SO FROM WHERE DID HIS CAREER BEGIN??

Himesh Reshamiya made his debut as a msuic director in the Salman Khan starrer Banhdan. Himesh seems to have gotten along very well with the bare chested Khan, and still considers him to be his mentor and friend. With Tere Naam becoming a big musical sensation, Himesh’s career seemed to be heading the right way, with generous comments by critics and an increasing mass popularity. Then he went ahead and sang for Aashk Banaya Aaapne, choosing a nasal twang to give his songs a different feel. The conclusion? Himesh was an overnight success and he was considered to be the enxt big thing in terms of singing.

THE GOLDEN PERIOD

After the stup[enduous and somewhat baffling success of Aashik Banaya Aapne, Himesh went on to compose and sing tons of other similar songs.....all of which were greedily lapped by an eager public yearning for his distinctive tone.

His trademark studdle and base ball cap became a fashion statement and even the way he held the mike became a statement. He was ruling the roost and demolishing any sorts of competition. But then, all good things come to an end and an overdose of simialr songs left the public disillusioned. Soon, he went from icon to so-last-year and lost out in the popularity stakes, what with the hip college crowd deciding unanimously to hate him.

THE JOURNEY SINCE THEN

The accusations have been many: the public dislike the similarity that all his songs post Aap Ka Surror have, the critics blast him for using monotones in singing and the produces complain that Himesh has an inflated ego. Himesh ahs carried on his barrage of rubbish and has released more than a hundred songs in less than 18 months, a fantastically high figure. Surprisingly, most of his songs have gone on to become commercial successes, and in the end Himnesh Reshamiya still laughs all the way to the bank!

Now, you have this really really SAD attempt by Himesh to prove himself as an actor in his own film, based around his enigmatic love story. Who the hell is interested in his private affairs anyway?? Sorry Himesh, you have completely lost hte plot now. Return to composing songs and abstan from singing.

But to give credit where it is due: Himesh started a whole new genre of music, and sometimes succeeded in amking his song memorable. For example, using ther strictly commercial ploy of losing the girl in every music video puts him into instant public recall and other antics ensure that he is never too far away from the limelight.

He has gone so far as to conduct a global tour for a whopping Rs 10 crore.....a ridiculouskly high amount. He’s given us good songs in the past, he simply needs to tweak out hsi weaknesses (read: nasal overtones used monotonosly) and concentrate on giving a better all round balance to his musical scores. Till that happens, I HATE YOU HIMESH RESHAMIYA! You are almost as bad as Ekta Kapoor;)

CONCLUSION: In a country starved of rock stars, even a disturbing gnawy singer like Himesh can go on to become a musical sensation. You want great msuic and a great voice: head to a ceratin SSouth American lady named Shakira......
