History: Past, Present and Future - Michael Jackson
Before Healing the World ... Michael Conquered It.

25 June 2010 was a sad day for me: it was the 1st Death Anniversary of Michael Jackson. Let’s remember yet another timeless classic of MJ: the HIStory Album.

In this 1995 album, Michael Jackson shows you where his history begins(1979 to 1991) and where his history continues which is 1995. HIStory has his classics first and then his new music back then(1995) continues his legacy. HIStory is a real treat for the fans whether they admire his songs on children(his passion) or the world or a girl or tabloids.

His lyrics are from his heart and they are touching to see how Michael has so much talent in writing, dancing and producing his music can be overshadowed by his weird and freaky personality. I remember when Jackson toured Bombay and performed there. he even stayed in Bal Thackeray’s residence. Please don’t let his personality freak you out, his music is damn worth it to respect the King Of Pop.

Disc Two:

(Disc 1 has old songs. So let me not comment on them.)

Scream featuring Janet Jackson:

The first duet of the disc2. The beats are mostly noise but excellent. MJ’s very angry and demanding in this song. His and Janet’s angry high singing is really good! She does excellent as she adds a nice female touch to the song. This most expensive song won a Grammy for best video.

They Don’t Care About Us:

The beats sound like an anthem with its sharp hits on the drums that sound like feet stomping and sharp clashes. Also, a technical sound but you get that in the bridge. Mike’s vocals here are really good. He’s angry and demanding once again in this song. He does great in this song with his high points and his soul in his singing.

Stranger In Moscow:

Michael is no stranger to the world. For this track, the beats are an easy going soft hits on the drums with a few dull and sometimes sharp clashes. Very melodic track. But the chorus he is very high-pitch. He uses his voice to point out the song’s meaning. Lyrics too is well-written.

This Time Around featuring Notorious B.I.G.:

For this demanding and angry song, the beats are sharp clashes with dull hits on the drums with a dull and low piano. B.I.G.’s vocals here are really good and is a nice touch as we take a break from Mike’s vocals. B.I.G.’s verse is quite possible his best yet!

Earth Song:

For this up lifting song, a melodic piano is playing in the background. As the song progresses, the beats change as the piano is a bit heavier. The beats are very uplifting and really, really fit the mood of the song. Mike’s vocals here are extremely soulful and his BEST out of his whole career! You will cry or be uplifted until the song is over which is 6 minutes and 47 seconds.

D.S.:

A song targeted at Tom Sheldon-the man who is the prosecutor of the police department who was the prosecutor of the 1993 and the 2003 case. In this song, the beats are a melodic electric guitar with dull hits on the drums with sharp clashes. Mike’s vocals here are extremely excellent as he sings very angry and demanding. I really like how Mike stretches his lyrics in this one. The lyrics are really creative and well-written.

Money:

For this track, the beats are dull and deep hits on the drums with a few sharp and sometimes dull clashes. Very good but wished that the verses were like the chorus which is very upbeat. He sings awful as the verses are going on. Mike sings so slow and so deep, you can’t hardly hear what he is saying. For the chorus however, he is upbeat and kind of high-pitched. I love how Mike says money as he sings monay!

Come Together:

For this country-rock style song, the beats are a country style guitar with dull hits on the drums with sharp clashes and an electric guitar. Very rock style song!

You Are Not Alone:

I am not alone by saying this song is pretty good! Very easy and mellow track. Mike’s vocals here are extreme soulful at its best. It’s a song with tons of soul from Michael.

Childhood:

A touching song from the movie Free Willy2.

Tabloid Junkie:

Taking aim at the public eye, the beats are sharp hits on the drums with sharp clashes and a teeny boppery technical sound in the chorus.

2 Bad, History, Little Suzie & Smile are excellent songs after these numbers.

Verdict: Though this soulful album lacks the splendor of Thriller, Dangerous and Bad, HIStory too is an important stone in the career necklace of the pop’s King.

As they say in old England.

Dead is The King!

Long Live The King!

And . His Music!
