Godrej Hit Anti Roach Gel

Hit Anti Roach Gel by Godrej was applied to our newly furnished modular kitchen and it worked amazingly well.

It really is a HIT product! True to it’s name and also something Godrej company can be proud of. Calling the product excellent would be an understatement for the menace it has helped us tackling. The price per gel syringe is also affordable for maximum middle income and lower income households too, I guess!

There was an army of small cockroaches that just wouldn’t die in-spite of so many attempts to clean all appliances, cover them, check for sink sanitation leaks, repeated cleaning of kitchen platform and furniture with detergents, spray chemicals etc.

The cockroaches just grew stronger and stronger in population with multiple varieties in varying sizes mostly tiny ones in black or beige color variety. Finding a place in kitchen where cockroach would not be seen was becoming difficult every passing day.

Then at last after pondering a while if professional pest control would be the best long term solution, I decided to give a go at the rather newly introduced Godrej Hit Anti-Roach Gel(applicator syringe) before I really could approach some pest control company. I didn’t need to go that far fortunately.

I bought 2 packets at one go. Although our cockroach problem was pretty much contained to the kitchen area I thought it could be possible that I would need the second gel packet very soon. But one new packet is still sealed as apparently gel application by 1 syringe was enough for our kitchen, I think it has enough gel remaining to reapply adequately everywhere in kitchen room if needed the second time over.

How To Apply -

There was a clear printed message on how to apply the gel drops at equal distances of 10cm approx. I however found it tiresome after a few minutes and decided to follow the instructions especially only in areas where the cockroaches were found to be loitering more often. Apart from that I chose to apply the gel sparsely in areas were the cockroaches were seen not so often. Applying the gel on wall corners and joints and behind kitchen doors/hinges and below the kitchen sink helps. Basically one needs to see to it that the cockroaches would find the gel somewhere near their regular movement paths and areas.

If cockroaches are mostly in 2 or 3 cabinets it doesn’t make sense applying the gel drops in areas where the cockroaches are not that many. Around a total of 40-60 drops of gel application in various places did the job in our case.

Special(Creepy) Trick -

After the first night of applying the gel, the next morning within approx 8-10 hrs a small bunch of cockroaches were found dead, considering how quick the action was and due to the exponential effect of this potent gel chemistry(since cockroaches are cannibalistic) wherein infected dead cockroaches are food for other cockroaches, me and my brother decided and put the dead cockroaches with a broomstick in a small disposable white plastic container bowl and leave them for 2-3 days more behind the fridge corner hidden from plain sight.

The trick worked wonderfully as all the remaining cockroaches fell prey to their cannibalistic nature consuming other dead infected roaches. It has been more than 6 months and there is not a single cockroach in sight. We have ensured that the gel is still there and not wiped off by accident while cleaning.

It is needless to say, still for the record, the gel is fume-less and odorless and does wipe off without leaving residue.

Caution –

Like all pest control solutions this one too should be used with caution and applied such that the utensils and other everyday items are not contaminated with gel that can in turn get on your skin or worst in the food items.

Hopefully the product is very safe to use, but in case someone feels unhealthy or accidentally injests it please contact qualified doctor and don’t self medicate.

I will like to hear your success stories in the anti-pest or anit-rodent areas, please post comments for the same. Good Luck!
