Finally after reading a lot of great reviews in mouthshut. I planned to buy a Hitchi Air conditioner. I decided on Hitchi as it provides unmatched efficiency and is far ahead of the lot in terms of technology even in this competitive market. The only caveat is it is very expensive (It costed me 37000 for 1.5 tonne Split A/C (Model No : , similar AC from Carrier, Blue Star would have costed around 30, 000 and A/C from LG, Samsung, Onida etc would have costed in the range of 22000-25000.
I bought the air conditioner from EZONE, Kolkata and believe it or not it was delivered after 7 days of payment (reason: Hitachi air conditioner had gone out of stock in kolkata). So, finally after bearing the heat for 7 days we got our air conditioner delivered. Then, in order to get the air conditioner installed I had to do several followup before I got the company person to install the air conditioner (as per company policy it takes around 48 hrs to get the AC installed).
The horror did not end there, during installation the engineer realized that the compressor was defective and to give devil its due the engineer promptly informed me and recommended that the air conditioner be returned to the company.
I was informed that the replacement generally take 2 days time and I should do a followup after one day On calling customer care I was given a rude shock, the person specifed my A/C would be replaced in a week as there is no stock available in kolkata.
Finally, after 14 days of torture my A/C was installed. The air conditioner works great but the inital torture has left a bad taste in my mouth.Based, on the above I assume even though the product is great, after sales service has left a lot to be desired. So, for now we are enjoying the cool air but get the jitters just at the thought of get our A/C serviced.
