If you want mental peace, want to save phone bills calling customer(non)care number( which is more often than not not reachable) and finally spend time in researching private AC repair shop, then buy some other brand, but not Hitachi.
It was Japanese theory that gaining a new customer is costlier than retaining existing one and that word of mouth is the most effective way of good/bad publicity, but obviously Hitachi does not believe in that. And if you live in India, after sales service is the single biggest criteria for deciding which brand one should buy.
All Japanese companies may be in terrible loss, but that doesnt change their attitude towards customers. Hitachi tops the list of companies which just dont care about their customers. Save yourself from trauma and dont buy from Hitachi. All products are liable to fault but if it happens to be Hitachi, you can forget your complaint getting attended to.
