Last summer, I went thru mouth shut to find out which AC I should buy, and it really helped me. So, I am here to pay back.
It was a lot of pain to decide. Trying to compare costs and features of the different AC models available.
Worst part was that the dealers in Gurgaon themselves didn’t know what features are there in the AC’s they are trying to sell.
Ultimately, after a lot of trips to dealers and queries, I left back LG, Samsung (they may be good) and went for Hitachi.
Initially, it made a little larger dent to my pocket ( 23000 + 2500 for Stabilizer & fitting), but this AC deserves to be praised.
Excellent quick cooling.
Best feature that I like in this AC is KAIMIN.
All the summers, I used to set the KAIMIN feature at around 11 PM with 23 degree required temperature and 4 degree increase.
It works like this : 1200 -> 24 degree, 1 AM -> 25 degree, 2 AM -> 26 degree, 3 AM -> 27 degree and then continue at 27 degree. This really helps getting up fresh in the morning with no chilly feelings.
Hitachi claims this AC to be consuming less power .... and that is true. In 8 hrs time, it runs for approx 5 hrs. Thats my experience.
If you think this to be silent AC, as in advertisements, then this is not, but this is also not noisy. Quadricool could be silent as its blowers run at slower speed.
Service is excellent. I keep getting calls from their call center checking if the AC is running fine. Today, service engineers came and serviced my AC free of cost.
The only issue I had with this AC is that its swing operation used to create some wierd sounds (like a puppy crying) after every 20 seconds. I told the service engineer that its swing creates some squeaky sound and pat he asked me ... DOES IT SOUND LIKE A PUPPY CRYING ? He knew it.. Nothing to worry, he applied some grease to a plastic part and its gone. As per him, its a common problem... but resolvable ....
Remote can be easily located at night ... for it glows ....
Do not lose its remote, or you won’t be able to do some of its settings like swing on/off. But basic functionality like temp incr, decr , modes etc will be available.
Net cleaning indicator is a good reminder and helps get cleaner air at lower cost.
My next AC is going to be a HITACHI... may be a quadricool.
