I had installed Hitachi Split AC 1.5 in Pune, the first day it was freezing cold and there are tons of features. Also the AC is very quiet.
Installation:
The installation happens very quick, the guy came in next day and took care of it. He showed all the features as well.
Maintenance:
Well don’t rely that will come on time for maintenance, call them up for all the free maintenance you have available for 1 year.

There however seems to be gas leaks issues. After about 1.5 years it stopped cooling, luckily I had bought extended warranty from Croma for $1500 and they came and fixed the problem.
I’ll see how it goes since it was fixed just last week. I’ll update this every year hopefully since it will help others.

Well it seems there are some serious flaws with the design. After the gas was refilled, I started observing water leakage from the AC inside our bedroom. Again called up the technician, and he said there is still gas leak problem and advised to replace one part which needs to be ordered from Hitachi. Looks like I might end up spending some money for the Hitachi part, even though labor will be free since its in Croma warranty.
Too bad I went for the name Hitachi and didn’t expect to run into so many problems.

The Croma service guy came again and this time what was done is all the gas was removed. He even vacuumed it completely to remove any left over gas. He refilled the whole thing with the gas he got along with it. Now so far its working fine and cooling is also fine. I had to shell out Rs. 1200 to get this done :(
Overall, i still don’t recommend for the price i have paid. Just being honest here.
