Inefficient Service, COOL PRODUCT

What’s an AC minus service or any product for that matter minus the service element. I bought the much hyped Quadricool on 31st May lest VAT push up the price which is already on the higher side.I bought a 1T AC.


Dare I say, the Cooling effect is excellent for an AC in its category (Cools my 120 sq ft bedroom very fast). This is fuelled by a high EER rate (10. +) The product comes with a bevy of other features too, such as the Kaimin (raises temp. by1 degree for max 4 hrs ) and an auto (clean) indicator which prompts the cleaning of the filter once it gets dirty and the machine is supposedly programmed for 164 Indian cities & prominent areas therein (Borivali-Kandivali for eg. as per the service man) to suit their climates (Whatever that crap means for something imported from Japan)


As for the power savings claim, I’ll buy it for the consumption is quite lower for my usage as shown in my 1st bill as compared to that of other brands ( owned by friends). The noise element is not exactly as low as claimed by the TV ads, but is noticeably on the lower side in comparison to other brands.


THE DOWNSIDE :


Mind you the AC is big, really big, especially its back portion is exceedingly large in sharp contrast with other ACs in its class. Resultantly, if unfortunately, you already have a grill installed outside the AC window, then it becomes a BIG problem as in my case I had to cut open and redo my grill with an extension to accomodate the ACs extra size.


The most important point is that of service. As in my case as we are working family, we cant stay home forever waiting for service personnel to come home to solve a problem. The calls are mostly handled by a call center and the service personnel NEVER arrives on time read N E V E R. Though the response to complaint in the form of a phone call is quick, the technical expertise (???) of the service guys ( the sevice element is outsourced tosome cos.) is at best LOUSY. They are like our BMC, opening up the entire machine for hours to find out a simple fault , say, a loose screw.


WORD OF CAUTION : In case of a problem, you might want to fix the problem by yourself and I am sure you’ll do a puposeful if not better job !


And of course, when the compressor switches on and off eg, when on Auto mode, it makes quite some noise as compared to the much silent OGs & others of this world.


As I’ve observed, one of my friends has earlier written a review in praise of the products service facility, maybe he resides in a locality different from mine or has a different outsourced agency catering to the region or both. Either ways I am glad for him and hope my future experience with the service guys will be a lesser pain !!!!!
