We bought a Hitachi Quadricool air-conditioner in July 2010, 1.5 tonne, for a premium price, because we thought it would work out better basis brand name and Japanese heritage. Less than a year on, and still well within warranty, it simply stopped cooling us, and after that their call-centre was engaged only in fooling us. Multiple calls later, over 10 days, and finally they send an engineer whose diagnosis was - it is not colling.
Thank you, we already know that, so what next? Next is that they will have to take it to their workshop(waiting period 4-5 days), and then get it filled with gas as well as checked(another 5-7 days), and meanwhile we can enjoy Delhis summer.
Now we have also learnt that it is likely that Hitachi Quadricool as sold in India is only a brand stuck on to an air-conditioner imported from . . . maybe China?
Whatever, in decades, this is the worst experience we have had. Good luck to those who choose Hitachi QuadriCool, this experience was not beautiful.
