I bought this model for Rs.40, 500 on 16th July 2010 in Chennai. On 1st July 2011, it suddenly stopped working. Service centre promises to send someone on 2nd July at 10am, then 2pm, then 4pm, then 6pm and then 7pm. No one comes. The manager of the service centre, Mr. Ranjit, who made these promises stops attending the phone at 7pm!
The call centre, located in Gujarat, tells me that someone will come on Sunday! When I say that I do not believe it, they say it will happen. On Sunday, predictably, nobody comes and the call centre says it is a festival in Gujarat! I tell them that I am in Chennai and ask why promise something which you cannot deliver, to which there is no response.
Now, I wait to see what happens on Monday. Be careful about buying Hitachi. A famous Japanese company with poor service in India.
