Legolas

Yes Krissy you are right Legolas is the son of King Thranduil as as such is a Sindar Prince. He forms one of the many links between the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings series. I always make an effort to read all 4 books at least once a year as they are a great way of escaping the mundane madness of modern life. The way Tolkien writes is in itself a marvel. The books were written before and during the second world war and a lot that was going on at the time is reflected in these books.

The fact that Tolkien not only wrote the stories within the books but also created a whole world complete with its own history and mythology and languages just adds to the complete richness of the stories.

Each year when I read them its like visiting old friends as I emerse myself in Middle Earth each night.
