Hollyoaks is sort of a younger version of Eastenders or Corronation Street. Same sort of goings on but with younger people, I suppose it’s more of a teenager thing but I still watch it. Makes me feel younger! I started watching Hollyoaks a few years ago and only started watching it because they came down to Newquay (where I live!) and were filming. Just wanted to see if I recognised anyone or any places. In the week that I watched it I was addicted and I don’t think I’ve missed an episode since. Even when I go on holiday I have to have every single episode taped for me and watch them all when I get back – sad life isn’t it? So what’s the general idea of the program? Well, it’s a soap, mostly based around teenagers. They are either pregnant, sleeping with someone else’s boyfriend, owe lots of money etc. etc. There are always loads of stories going on at the same time. There’s a lot of humour in the program as well, a couple of the characters are always getting things wrong, saying things the shouldn’t etc. But apart from the fun bit they also address more serious issues.
If you haven’t seen Hollyoaks before watch it for a week, I guarantee that once you get to know the characters you will be addicted and will keep watching it. It’s repeated on Sundays and also on E4 so it must be good!
