Well...my story started in the year 2003 when as an expectant mother to be, I registerd myself to be delivered in Holy Spirit Hospital...since it was pretty close to where we were living.... come D Day and as excited parents to be, I was rushed to hospital by my family members. I was admitted at 2.00 am in the morning and I delivered around 12.00 pm the next day. the dlivery was not conducted smoothly and caringly as expected, but after seeing our baby son, I forgot the pain I was succumbed to. My doctor arrived only when babys head was already out! We were in hospital for 5 days, but only twice were the bed sheets changed. My room was full of cobwebs, but we endured the agony of staying in filthy surroundings as we knew we would not be there for very long. On the third day after delivery of the baby, I noticed that the child was having kind of convulsions, as also that the child was not very active. I informed the nurses, but all laughed on me saying, I was a very worried mom. we came back home on 5th day, however the very next day, I woke up at night to notice that my child was running high temperature. we rushed to hospital again, only to be told that we would have to be readmitted because the child had probably contacted viral fever. after that what followed for seven whole days was pure torture by hospital staff and the paediatricians. They conducetd tests on our child on the 3rd day afetr his admission, and the results of the tests came on 6th day...by that time it was too late cos our angel had developed scepticimia and was battling life and death. after being readmitted I told the doctors that my baby was having convulsions, but all laughed mockingly at me...one day at night my baby turned blue and I asked for the doctor to come in. the resident doctor came in after full 1 hour 15 minutes, and was angry on me for waking him up in the middle of the night...cos the child seemed to be alright by that time. on the 2nd last day of my childs life, the head of paediatrics, who also happend to be my paediatrician came for her usual rounds int he evening and came to know that the child was not feeding (cos he was having internal bleeding), and was in NICU. She suggested that the child be succumbed to LP (Lumber Puncture) in the morning , as she had to go for a wedding that evenig! the Hospital Medical Shop was never stocked with life saving drugs, and we had to run over to shops outside to get important drugs. Throughout our stay in that hospital we were treated very very shabbily by the staff of Holy Spirit Hospital. The nUrses used to tell us not to ask the doctor anything cos she may not like it. damn-it...it was my child in question. we still blame and curse ourselves for taking our baby to that hospital. I was compleely dissatisfied with the kind of treatment meted out to us....We had not gone ther eof rcharity but for saving our child.....friends.... it took 2 long years for me and my husband to get over the shock....i would recommend none of u to go there. whatsmore...after my child passed away...the head nurse came to me and told me to be happy cos at last my pain was over!
