Like everybody else, I too attracted by the variety of products on display in Hometown. Most of the time you have to go and lookout for sales person. But if you are able to find one, then mostly they are knowledgeable about the product. If you decide on one and pay the money, that is where your problem starts.
Im still repenting why I have not seen all the reviews in mouthshut before buying this product. I bought a TV stand on this week. they promised to deliver within 2 day and fix it before 3 rd day.The delivery person called me on second day morning and said will deliver at 5 pm. I cut short my work and made sure I was in home at 5 pm. But he delivery person did not turn up. whenever I had to call, he said he will be there within 30 mins. And he finally delivered at 8.30 pm spoiling all my shopping plans for the evening. He has the guts to ask for TIPS after all this goof up. But somehow the item is delivered.
But then starts the another problem of fixing it.No word from home town on when they will send the carpenter to fix it. Calling to home town goes to automatic recordings and never be able to speak to a representative. Im still trying my luck. Im thinking maybe I should visit the shop again and ask them to take the product back.
Had I bought a TV stand from local retailer, I could have had it fixed and delivered on the same day.update: Atlast im able to get the fitter to fix the tv stand on the 6th day. Here is the surprise, the advice from fitter is the TV stand can only be pushed across and should not be lifted. The reason is its not well nailed like your local furniture. The plug and play type of furniture means the wood goes and sits on a groove and not really tied together by nails.
So if you have to shift your home, then you are in real trouble. You have to either dismantle the TV stand(will take more than an hour for the carpenter) or you have to carry it like piece of glass item in a safe way. ohh man! why they have not tell all this when I bought the product.
