Home Town: Poor customer service

I bought a Nano Bunk Bed from Home Town, Marathahalli, Bangalore on 9th Dec, 2012. I was promised delivery by 12th Dec. However, when there was no delivery till Dec 20, I checked the invoice and discovered that the cashier/attendant had incorrectly entered the item as "Queen’s Bed". Further, delivery date was entered as 25th Dec. After that, I had to follow-up at-least 15 times over phone, and also had to make 4 personal visits. Eventually, the Bunk Bed was delivered on Jan 9, 2013.


This is not the first time I have faced issue from Home Town. In Dec 2011, we had booked a treadmill from them, and waited for 1 month for delivery. Since they kept postponing the delivery date, we had to cancel the booking. The refund took another 14 days to appear in the credit card after that. Finally, we had to buy elsewhere.


Customer Service is pathetic. Even if you call their listed phone numbers, very rarely does anybody attend. I even tried reaching their store manager Mr. Pradeep, who somehow doesn’t pick-up his calls either. I lodged a complaint on the Future Group website, and no response from their side either. Finally, in desperation, I lodged a written complaint at the ground floor and insisted on meeting their Customer Service Manager Mr. Om Prakash. He refused to meet me(what a great customer service manager!). This reflects on how they treat their customers.


I don’t intend to visit Home Town ever after this.
