We had booked a 4 seat Dining table from Hometown @ Central JP Nagar on 6th August. The product was promptly delivered on 8th August. On 9th August the fitter came and found that the dining table was defective. He initiated the replacement process and told in couple of days we should get the replacement. After 2 days we did not receive any response from hometown. After repeated calling and visiting the store we were told that the product will be delivered on 13th or 14th august. we waited till 14th but in vain. We called the store guy called Shankar 9xxxxxxx30 and he assured it will be delivered on 14th only. We did not follow up on this till 16th and we got a call from Shankar that they are ready to deliver the product. We asked him to deliver on Saturday 17th. He said it will be done on Saturday 10AM.


Here starts the pain. We waited at home for this delivery but again no one turned up. we call the store and Shankar started a new story that warehouse was closed and he was not aware of it. We went to the store to talk to his manager for this reckless answer. If store is closed aren’t the employees aware of when they are closed and when they are open? We were then convinced by a female and person by name Lalat that the product will be delivered without fail on tuesday. Mr. Lalat also promised that this time they will ensure the process is perfect and deliver a good piece. I asked him to give this in writing and reluctantly after talking for half an hour he wrote and gave that home town will deliver the product by Tuesday 21 August else initiate refund immediately. 21 August the product was delivered and to my shock this piece was also faulty. I called Mr Shankar and Mr Lalat to find out more about this and Lalat said he is on leave and will initiate refund tomorrow. He called up the warehouse in-charge Mr Srinivas and they said the store does not have any more pieces and next delivery is after 15 days.


I asked him about the process he was mentioning that this time they will deliver perfect product, he just said I kept my promise and delivered the product. If its faulty its not his problem and he is on leave. I asked him whom can I speak to who is at work and he gave a number of Mr Parameshwar @ 9341xxxx17 who was his manager. I Spoke to him and he said it will take 12 days to initiate the proper refund process. But he does not know what Mr Lalat has promised and tomorrow only we can look into it. He told me to send back both the faulty pieces and they will initiate refund. I have sent both the pieces and taken in writing that the piece is received by hometown.


My suggestion is please keep away from home town. Even if they tell they will deliver a product for a throwaway price, stay away!!!! They just can’t keep up their words and absolutely no sync between Store and warehouse. I just wasted 2 days and couple of visits to the store. Still neither have the product nor money.


I will now have to wait and see what they are up to tomorrow.
