Came across the portal online and made a visit to their office in noida post scheduling a meeting with their designer Ms. Suchita. On the very first meeting (10 June’18) we had made it to clear to the designer that we would be requiring the completion of the project within 45 days as we had plans of travelling post that and was not possible for us to stay beyond the timeline (25 July’18), on confirmation of the project delivery within the said time period we went ahead into the designing stage (This was discussed with Ms. Suchita and Mr. Shubham(Sales Manager)). In the first meeting all things were discussed and a initial design was drafted wherein all are requirements were noted and confirmed that all things and colours would be available as per our requirement as we were very specific with the kind of kitchen and wardrobes we were looking for.
The initial quotation was shared with us within 2 days (12 June’18) and we were asked to deposit the advance payment of 10% at the earliest to proceed further so that their is no delay for completion of the project. Post making the 10% advance payment (13 June’18), we were promised that the designs would be finalised within 3 days and D2 meeting and masking would be completed by 20 June’18 to initiate the production. But the reality and the actual picture was that the designer did not bother to complete the designs timely even after constant reminders after we made the advance payment. The project was delayed and after masking we were told that they will not be able to deliver by 25 July’18 and the completion date extended to 10 Aug’18. The reason we choose homelane was because they agreed to deliver according to our date, but it was not a mistake but a big blunder that we choose HOMELANE. We had to stop the project as our travel date was already pre planned and could not be altered. On further discussion it was finalised that we will transfer the 40% payment required to proceed for production in 1st week of Dec so that the delivery can be made in Jan’19 (45 days after the payment transfer). But when we confirmed for making the next advance payment we were told that few of the things which we had finalised would not be available and they would require to do the masking again (which was not possible as no one was available at the house for masking and this was already communicated and discussed).
Below reasons to be noted for not choosing HOMELANE :
1) False promises were made from them in the initial stage to take the project and they were not fulfilled after making the initial 10% advance.
2) We were not told that the initial advance was non - refundable.
3) The designer is not aware about the products being offered by Homelane and new things were told to us at the time of masking by the person who came for the measurements.
4) Initially we were told that all colour options would be available but at the time of finalising the colours many options which we wanted were not there and we had to change the finish to get the colours which we required which exceeded our project estimate.
5) New policies and rules were being told to us at each and every stage.
Now project is on halt as we have requested for refund as after such an experience we have lost our faith in HOMELANE. But they have a new policy which has been stated now that amount cannot be refunded.
