The main reason for the bad review is the lack of communication/planning and a main person in charge for all the teams involved in the installation work such as woodwork team, CNC work team etc. The teams kept on waiting on each other to finish their work first and delayed the completion deadline by 2 months and still the work is not finished.
The full details of the issue is as below:
This review is continuation to the review provided earlier(https://mouthshut.com/review/Homelane-com-review-mrqnmtqonsn). the review provided earlier was for the phase 1 of the interior work. This review is exclusively for the phase 2 work that the interior team has done.
Homelane has in collaboration with AapkaPainter for painting and putty work and some external vendor for the CNC work. Firstly, I would like to be upfront and say that Homelane has good crew and experienced staff "ONLY" for the work that is governed by them directly.
The phase 2 of our interior work required involvement from these external vendors, which led to several problems due to lack of proper communication and planning. The work itself was very less and expected to be finished within 10 work days by the designer herself, but here I am writing review for non-completion of the work after almost 3 months.
Mr. Syed was our project manager for both phases. while he worked excellently in the first phase seemed lacking in every department in the second phase. I would have expected a single point of contact/manager for all the work i.e. Homelane work such as woodwork/granite work/lighting etc. and the external vendors work such as CNC work. To even worsen the situation there was a lack of collaboration between these teams as for the work these two team needed to work together. they kept on stalling the work for weeks by saying that the other team needs to finish the work first then I will start. This shows lack of coherence between the teams. Further, due to the same disconnect between the teams the measurements were provided wrongly to the external vendor, thereby coming up with CNC partition of wrong dimension. I feel this is a blunder for the team which take pride with their interior work quality. Due to this very dimension issue the CNC partition work is left unattended as I write this review.
Before starting the phase 2 of the work we shifted to the site and requested Mr. Syed to keep the work to the weekends which he agreed without any issues. But then the work was not even done on the weekends stating manpower issues. As a result of this we took off from office on multiple occasions and informed the project manager about our availability on the weekdays well in advance, but heard the same responses "i will update you by EOD" which were never given. Finally we had to escalate the issue to get some work done.
Overall, we didnt get the experience we were looking for, in accordance to the premium we paid i.e. 100% of the amount before the installation work started.
