For the first time, I though of buying stuff from homeshop18.com, I must say, I was highly dissatisfied with the website in more than one ways. Will describe in points, in chronological order of my experience:
So many discount coupons info in every page that will actually confuse their customer. Its too much irrelevant information to choose for any customers.
The product picture is of very bad resolution and lack clarity. I would like to give example of Peter England shirts. You can’t even see the texture and design of the shirts properly.
Lack of run time updation of product which are going out of stock. The Peter England Shirts which I was trying to purchase, seems to be "In Stock" according to the product page, when I try to move to the payment section, error message tells me to choose from another product as the given product has gone out of stock. After repeatedly trying for 3 different shirts I gave up.
I was trying to purchase another product "American Tourister Blue Duffel bag - 40X011011" which has a price tag of Rs. 1720. But after selecting the only size availabe "65 cm", "voila!" the price increases to Rs. 1890.
Finally, when I was ready to even pay Rs. 1890 for the bag, which, by the grace of god, was available, I get an error message that the product is not available for the area code. I live in Chennai and for the first time, I am experiencing that on availability of a product from an online retailer, the product will not be available for specific area code, which is not even a remote area.
Entering your shipping address, which I feel is one of the most easiest things to feed, is by design made so confusing. As mentioned, my city is Chennai. But you have to enter the locality where they are asking for city, choosing from the drop down menu which btw is not even sorted alphabetically. How customer friendly!!!
The whole "trying" to shop experience from homeshop18.com has done one good thing - out of all the online retailer, if I have to look for products and compare, from now onwards, I will have one less website to look into.
Thanks homeshop18.com for wasting my time.
