I would like to share my experience about my online shopping experience with Homeshop18.com.
I was searching to buy wedding gift for my friend. I thought let me buy some big bazaar gift vouchers this time as he can buy groceries with them. Now my first preference was sulekha.com as I read positive reviews about that new website but it was out of stock there. I came across homeshop18.com selling bigbazaar gift vouchers. I did not buy anything from them earlier but since they had a dedicated channel and have lot of publicity did not bother to check reviews also. Now that was a big mistake.
My order number is 908717251. I have ordered on 2nd Jan 2012. Till 11th Jan I did not receive the gift vouchers so I logged in to check and to my surprise the status is cancelled. I have checked the status even on 10th Jan and status was "To be Shipped" and courier name was updated as ARAMEX.
So,
1) without shipping they have updated the courier name
2) Without informing or sending any mail they have cancelled the order
3) I have to wait another 2 weeks minimum to get the refund. Imagine if it was a highly priced item and you neither get the product nor the money.
4) I have raised a support ticket and there is no response.
So I request all the online buyers to proceed with caution with this website. These websites lure you with Discount coupons and unbelievable offers but you have to know that there is lot of risk involved.
Now after my fiasco I started searching and came to know that homeshop18.com is not a reliable website and has been doing these cheap tricks. After all it is our hard earned money we are spending, In order to avoid all these headaches it is better to keep away from homeshop18.com.
Better be safe than sorry.
