The biggest online shopping mistake I have made so far is making a purchase at homeshop18.com. The decision to make this mistake started while I was hunting for tupperware lunch sets online and I saw that homeshop18 had them. So, I happily placed my order for 2 tupperware lunch boxes, one for me and one for my uncle. That was the first mistake. The second mistake was that I opted to pre-pay the order. So, on that fateful day of August 3rd, I placed my trust in Homeshop18 which they completely shattered. This is a summary of my experience with them.

-They dispatched the products on 8th August 2012.
-One of the tupperware sets was defective - torn bag with two of the pieces missing (see picture)
-I called the customer care and complained about it and they asked me to do a bunch of work to get the pick up done, including having to call their courier partner, pack the products blah. I told them that they would have to deal with their courier partners themselves (based on my experience of online shopping at ZOVI, Myntra and Flipkart)
-Finally, a reverse pick up was arranged around the 24th of August 2012 (after 14 days)
-I have not received the refund/ replacement till today and when I called + wrote + tweeted to homeshop18, they asked me for the consignment no. repetitively even after I informed them that I did not have it.
-My last conversation with them went like this:- After seeing my tweets on 12th September 2012, somebody from the customer care team called me on 13th September 2012, said that she would look into the matter and call me back. I mentioned that I did not have the consignment no. (which I also did in the Tweet) and that homeshop18 should have tracked the product
-The next day, she called me back while I was getting ready for work (she continued speaking even after I requested her to call back since I was in a hurry). She then, asked me for the consignment no. AGAIN! She finally admitted that I would be losing my money without the consignment no.
-Today, I called their courier partner, TNT and they also gave me the same response.
I would definitely not recommend Homeshop18 to anyone after this experience.
