I have read the contents of the recent reviews where many of the customers were happy with this e-commerce site. I don’t want to disagree with them, it is possible that it may be good for few products but at the same time I will like to share my experience with u regarding my recent purchasing.
On 24th July I ordered for 5 gm Gold Bar from them (Order id was 914646081) and the delivery term for it was 8-9 days. However when the delivery time came a message was received from them regarding delay in shipment by 3-5 days. Even after the lapse of the extra time my product was not shipped. When I called the Customer Care, they told it will ship within 24-48 hours. When again it was not shipped I contacted them however I was told that a call back from their shipment team will be made to me within 24-48 hours. No call back was received, I again called their office and I was ensured again that I will receive a call back with all updates within 24-48 hours. However as expected, no call back received. I again contacted them in angry mood and again got the same reply that call back will be made with 1-2 days. Even though this time no call back was made but my ordered was cancelled unilaterally by them mentioning it is out of stock. So u can see how their team took extra time of 9-10 more days from me without shipment of the product.
You may think that this is normal that products goes out of stock, but think again with my points –
• My money was with them for 24 days and got refunded without any interest
• The Gold price was either rising or stagnant during this period so delivering the product in this case may have resulted in immediate gain for me and loss for them.
• What kind of system they are maintaining if they came to know about out of stock situation after 24 days and that also after frequent chasing from my end
• Is the thing are displayed without inventory or commitment of inventory at their end?
• In past also I have purchased gold coins from them however they never delivered it on time and I was fortunate to get the coins as the price of gold fallen during the period of my order.
I will also like to add further that in my earlier purchase I got the coins of Brand name “Sparkles” however it will be worthy to mention that on certificate it was mentioned that weight tolerance +/- 05% (Five Percent). Earlier I assumed that it may be a typographical error however today it appears that it might be true and I may have got the coin of 0.95 gm instead of 1 gm. The standard for deviation is about +/-0.01 to 0.05.
So friends, I will again request you to think twice when you place your orders for at least gold coins/Jewellery through Homeshop18.com. It’s your hard earned money, pl. Don’t waste it on the false commitments of these sites. They simply want to earn from ur money. If the price of gold will fall they will deliver it to you and if it does not fall then its quite simple they will ask for extra time from you and again if their desired rate does not comes they will simply cancel your order by mentioning “OUT OF STOCK”.
